Merry Christmas, by Thomas

Hi everybody, sorry I couldn't post on Christmas Day because we were too busy opening presents.
We got our new car on the 24th, and I stayed up until I saw Santa going past you on NORAD Tracks Santa.

We got the best thing we could get! A taca taca table. Which is called table football over there.

I got an inflatable whale and we both got an inflatable boat and Nico got an inflatable dolphin.

How are you doing? I hope you are fine. Bye Bye,

Thomas

Our New Address

While our mail is being forwarded from Priestfield Road, that will only last 6 months, so,

Home is now:

Camino La Laguna 13898
Lo Barnechea
Santiago
Chile
The view from the balcony at about 8.45 tonight. Nice, eh? I'm using Bill's camera, but just as a point and shoot, so these don't look as good as the real thing - the light is incredible at sunset. Absolutely golden. Wish I could capture it better.

Here is someone looking rather wistfully out...

As soon as we can get a catflap fitted she can go out, but I don't want her out when she can't get back in on her own. There are a lot of stray dogs (strays, not feral*) and they get into our garden. I want her to be able to run for the catflap and get in. Not have to rely on one of us noticing that she's needing in.

*They all seem to be first generation strays, almost all of them are an identifiable breed, I think that if they were truly feral, they'd be breeding, and wouldn't all be recognisably beagle, or german shepherd, or husky, etc.

School's Out...and It's Christmas

So, Christmas at Nido. It's not quite what we are used to...

Thomas's concert - he was playing something called a Bass Metalophone...

And there was singing, too.

Here's Nicos concert - when Santa came to Nido... They kinda go over the top a bit at that school. Just a tad.

And Nico's class party. Which I got to go to, having missed the Thanksgiving one.

And now we're on our Summer holidays. Dad is away for the first time since we arrived. And we now have a Nana - Milagros, who comes every day, Monday to Friday and looks after the house, and helps us all learn more Spanish. She's only 19, and loves kids, so we are all really happy with each other.

It's going to be 30 degrees on Christmas Day.... And no, that's not Fahrenheit!

4 days to christmas eve! By Thomas

hi,
It is 4 more days till Christmas eve here! How many more days is it over where you are?

We heard there was a earthquake yesterday but we did not hear a thing!

i also had something that is much better than a christmas party. an end of the year party! It is a party where everybody in the class goes to someone's house and you can go swimming in the pool if you want. only one person didn't go in the pool at this year's party.

Bye!

Happy Holidays! By Thomas

Hi,

Are you on your holidays yet? Well I am, just about. Tomorrow's our last day of school, well, as we're on the opposite side of the world from you, everything is like the wrong way round here.

We've not got any homework this week, but here's something even worse. I got homework in the holidays!

We've got a Christmas tree now and I made an ornament at school for it.

How are you?/?Como Esta? Very good?/?Muy bien?Well,see ya!Bye!cheerio!/Adios!chao!

Big Day Tomorrow!

We'll be a little busy for the next few days/weeks... Our container is arriving tomorrow.

Amazingly that's only 6 weeks and a day after our arrival. It's going to start *looking* like home too.

We've got some more photos of playing in the pool, and other stuff which I will try to get around to posting soon.

We're still having fun!

Christmas is Coming! By Thomas

Hi there,

Christmas is coming soon. It's getting quite cold there I think, but we've got a swimming pool here so we can swim every Christmas.

There's a website that we've found out about called Norad Tracks Santa, and if you go onto that Website on the 24th, you'll be able to see Santa flying around the world.

We had our first visitor a few days ago. It was my uncle! Woo hoo!

We've got a hamster in our classroom, called Maxy, and you should have seen him today. There was a round ball that was hollow, and the hamster got put in there and he was running around the classroom in the ball.

The class clown said he should get a driving license. And another one of the class clowns said he should get a flying license because he rolled off a table and nearly flew into another one, but he landed on the ground and crashed into one of the chairs. And then somebody picked him up and he was going on his side, and the person was balancing Maxy on his finger until he fell down.

See ya! Bye!
